Custom-built Scania camper

A Scania camper captures the imagination. Not just because of its size or appearance, but above all because of what it makes possible. Covering long distances, living comfortably, taking plenty with you and being able to rely on a strong foundation while travelling. For travellers who dare to think big, a Scania chassis is therefore a very logical choice.

But a good Scania camper does not begin with the chassis alone. It begins with your travel plans. With destinations that go beyond a standard holiday, and with the desire to travel for longer and experience more freedom. That is exactly where Twiga Travelcars comes in, because we do not build standard campers, but custom-built camper units that match the way you want to travel.

Scania camper by Twiga Travelcars

A Scania motorhome by Twiga Travelcars does not come from a brochure full of standard models. It starts with listening. Where do you want to go? How do you want to travel? What does the vehicle need to carry, handle and make possible along the way?

From that conversation, a vehicle slowly begins to take shape. First as an idea, then as a layout, technical setup and choice of materials. Step by step, a camper unit is created that is not only beautiful to look at, but above all comfortable to live in. That is how Twiga works. Not building first and then hoping it fits, but first understanding what someone needs and then working towards that in a very focused way.

This way of thinking fits seamlessly with the philosophy of Twiga Travelcars. It is about more than simply building a vehicle. Advice, thinking along with you, aftersales and support in making choices are all part of it.

What you can expect:

  • Custom build based on your travel goals, wishes and practical needs
  • Thoughtful engineering and smart system choices
  • Twiga After Sales Service

Long-term off-grid travel

Anyone who wants to travel for a long time looks at a vehicle differently. It is no longer just about whether it looks good, but above all whether it works. Is there enough water on board? Is the energy system reliable? Can you live comfortably in both cold and hot conditions? Is there enough space for a food supply, clothing, tools and spare parts?

A Scania expedition truck offers the space to approach this properly. Thanks to the strong chassis and high payload, there are many possibilities when it comes to tanks, batteries, solar panels and living space. This creates a vehicle that makes long-term off-grid travel genuinely achievable.

What our ambassadors say about us

Comfortable adventure travel

Adventure travel and comfort are not mutually exclusive. In fact, anyone who spends months on the road knows just how important comfort becomes. Being able to sit properly, cook comfortably, take enough belongings with you and simply enjoy a good shower at the end of a long day of travelling.

A Scania truck camper offers the space for this, both literally and figuratively. You have more options for a logical layout, more room for technology and more freedom to adapt the living unit to your way of travelling. This could mean a spacious seating area, a fixed bed, a practical kitchen or extra storage for longer routes.

Comfort is not about excess. It is about smart choices. About a vehicle that works well, day after day. A vehicle built to live in, travel with and rely on.

Scania camper units we have built before

Over the years, Twiga Travelcars has built several camper units on heavy-duty truck chassis, including Scania. Projects like these clearly show how much freedom a strong base vehicle can offer. They also immediately make clear that no two vehicles need to be the same.

On our projects page, you can find campers we have built before and get a clear impression of the possibilities, layouts and technical choices.

Twiga’s Project 105

A great example of this is Project 105. This project clearly shows what is possible when a powerful Scania chassis is combined with a spacious, well-considered living unit.

Project 105 was built on the basis of a Scania S590 and was configured according to the customer’s wishes. The vehicle was given four official seats, a bunk bed and a generous living unit. The result is a vehicle that is clearly built for comfortable and serious travel.

How does the construction of a camper unit work?

At Twiga, it starts with a conversation. First, we want to know where you want to go, how you want to travel and what the vehicle needs to be capable of along the way. From that foundation, we work step by step towards a camper unit that is right in terms of layout, technology and everyday use.

Getting to know each other and discussing your plans

During the first conversations, everything revolves around your travel plans. The clearer they are, the better we can think along with you about the chassis, body and facilities.

Working out the design and layout

We then translate your wishes into a practical layout and the right technical choices. In this phase, it often becomes clear how important customisation is. Everything needs to make sense in daily use and fully match the way you travel.

Building the camper unit and integrating it with the vehicle

Once the plans are ready, the build begins. This is where construction, technology and finishing come together. The camper unit is built and integrated with the vehicle, with close attention to strength, weight distribution and durability.

Ready for departure

In the final phase, everything comes together. The unit has been built, the technology has been fine-tuned and the vehicle is ready for the adventure it was designed for.

Twiga Travelcars helps to build your dreams

Having a camper unit built is more than a technical choice. It is about the way you want to travel, the freedom you are looking for and the places you want to go. Twiga Travelcars helps translate those plans into a vehicle that works in practice. Carefully designed, tailored to the way it will be used and made for journeys that go beyond a standard holiday.

Although this page focuses on the Scania camper, Twiga Travelcars also builds camper units on other truck chassis, such as Mercedes and MAN. Which chassis is the best fit depends on the travel goal, the desired body and your personal preferences. We can advise you on this.
