A Mercedes Arocs 2053 4×4 is being converted into an expedition truck with a Twiga camper unit. The customer requested a a shell (casco) camper unit with specific exterior dimensions: length 6350 mm and width 2500 mm. The height of the camper unit is always discussed with the customer and can vary; in this case, it is 2350 mm, which is also possible at Twiga.
The camper unit is equipped with multiple windows, hatches, roof windows, and the entrance door. The camper unit is painted in the same color as the Mercedes Arocs. At the rear, a custom-made hydraulic lift is installed for a spare tyre, bicycles and/or a motorcycle, including a storage box. Several additional storage boxes are fitted, and the camper unit is also equipped with the well-known Twiga step including a handrail.
This large camper unit is made with an aluminium cage construction. This keeps the weight low. A steel subframe is used to ensure that no torsion occurs on the living unit.
The camper unit is equipped with multiple windows, hatches, roof windows, and the access door. The camper unit is painted in the color of the Mercedes Arocs. A custom-made hydraulic lift for tires, bicycles, and/or motorcycles, including a storage box, is installed at the rear. The unit also features various storage compartments and the well-known Twiga ladder with handrail.
CONSTRUCTION METHOD
This large camper unit is built using an aluminium cage structure, which keeps the weight low. A steel subframe ensures that no torsion is applied to the living unit.
